As gazetted on 1st, August 2018 by the Fijian government Lami Town Council was delegated two responsibilities for Navua :
1. Building Developments
2. Solid Waste Management

BUILDING PERMITS
The Core functions include the processing of Applications and Monitoring of Building/Development Progress within the extended local authority boundaries, designing of Councils development projects and attending to Complaints and Queries on Building and Development

MARKET
The Market provide a smaller scale environment and ease of services provided to the people to access fresh fruits and vegetables.

SOLID WASTE MANGEMENT
The Core functions are to deliver services in terms of Drainage maintenance,
waste management as a set of activities that included: the collection, transport and disposal of waste,
footpath repair, landscaping & beautification of the town, Maintenance/upgrading of all Council vested parks and provisions of children play equipment, upgrading of Council properties and its maintenance works and Capital projects.
